Turkey balls with Apple Chutney

Serves: 4 persons

Ingredients

For Meatballs:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, minced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

For Chutney:

  • 3 medium tart apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • ΒΌ cup golden raisins
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup water
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • For meatballs in a large bowl, add all ingredients and mix until well combined.
  • Make desired sized balls from the mixture.
  • Arrange the meatballs into a prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until done completely.
  • Meanwhile, for the sauce: in a medium pan, mix together all ingredients over medium-high heat.
  • Cover the pan and cook for about 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Uncover and cook for 2-3 minutes more or until desired thickness.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • With a potato masher, mash the apple pieces slightly to form a chunky mixture.
  • Serve meatballs with sauce.
